Feder campaign to get boost in money, support
Democrat Judy Feder's campaign will receive a boost in money and advice as the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) announced Aug. 1 that it placed the McLean resident's campaign onto its Red to Blue program.
By being part of the program, the DCCC will dedicate additional funding and strategic support to Feder's bid to upend longtime Republican candidate Frank R. Wolf (10th) in November's election.
...
So far this election cycle, Feder's campaign has raked in $1.2 million, about twice as much as she did at this same point in 2006, her campaign said. Wolf has raised $1.4 million this election cycle, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.
"We are excited about the recognition and support the Red to Blue program brings," Feder said in a statement. "It’s going to give us the momentum and the resources we need to win in November."
The DCCC launched the Red to Blue program four years ago. During the last congressional elections in 2006, the program raised $22.6 million for 56 candidates nationwide, averaging $404,000 per campaign.
The DCCC added Feder to the program in 2006, but not until October, less than a month before the election.
"The impact of the fundraising and infrastructure support that comes with Red to Blue," said Feder's campaign manager Luke McFarland, "will be much more significant over the course of three months than it was over three weeks in 2006."
