I believe we need to work with our military leaders to develop a responsible plan to bring our brave military men and women home from Iraq. I support requiring the Iraqi government to be more accountable to its people and to us, including a timetable for bringing our troops home.

Five years ago the American people were told that Iraqi oil revenue would pay for reconstruction costs in Iraq. Five years later the American tax payer is still paying the bill. That is unacceptable given the financial burdens we’re facing today.

For years, I have worked with the Pentagon to train battle-tested soldiers. In Congress, I will work with our military leadership to bring our troops home and ensure that we provide the resources and money necessary to take care of our veterans.
